All’s well that ends well
The end of the year is nearing; we hope it’s been a good one for you!
It is now important to create the new year, and process the current year after the first of January. The steps you need to undertake when processing the year are explained thoroughly on the instruction page and in an instruction video (also included below).

Attention! The year cannot be closed (processed) until after the new year has begun. So you can only close the past year from the first of January onward.
A better way to report sick
Always inform someone when an employee is registered sick or better.
Good news! A functionality has been added that informs a selected person (or multiple people) of all sick reports by default. This person could be the HR employee in charge of all sick reports, or the company doctor.
These settings can be found in the ‘sick reports’ tab under system settings ⇒ options. Here, you can select whether by default an email will be sent to the manager of the employee, or any other person/email adress.

New report functionality
A new report type has also been added, in which all sick reports within the company can be shown in an overview. Administrators can now create and export a report showing all sick reports, so that it can immediately become clear which employees are sick or have been sick during the selected period. Donating leave days
In the Netherlands, there is a surplus of no less than 93 million unused leave days. Unicef has started a beautiful initiative that provides a solution for this problem, and which also gives companies the opportunity to support charity. It is now possible to donate leave days to a good cause, so that leave days which would otherwise have come to expire will not be wasted.
The Leavedays application can facilitate the donation of leave days in the following ways:
- Via e-mail
Let your employees send an email to your department in which they state that they want to donate a leave day to charity. Then, the HR manager in question will be able to substract this leave day from the employee’s leave balance using an administrative adaptation. In this case, a payment adaptation or a deduction adaptation should be used.
- Sell leave
We have created a separate module in which leave (exceeding the statutory minimum) can be sold at the request of the employee. This module lends itself really well for the purpose of donating leave. If this module has already been activated, we recommend using it if your employees wish to donate leave to charity. It is essential that a clear reason is stated in the sell leave request, such as ‘Donate a day to Unicef’ so that the leave day will not be paid out to the employee him/herself. The methods above can be used to process the donated days in the Leavedays system, after which you still have to get the money to the charity. The amount in total (for the whole company) should be calculated and transfered to the cause, in this case Unicef, by the person in charge.
