Type of leave: leave for medical reasons

Leave for medical reasons

When an employee partially returns after a period of illness, the best thing to do is to report the employee as recovered, and register the absences of the employee under a different type of leave. This way, it is clear from the calendar and in reports when this employee is absent, without having to report them as ill and recovered time and time again. To do this, carry out the following steps:

  1. Create a new type of leave for employees who will be (partially) absent for a certain period of time. Go to ‘Settings (gear icon top right)’ ⇒ ‘Master data’ ⇒ ‘Types of leave’ and select ‘Insert’. Enter the same settings as the image below:
  2. Then, this type of leave should be added to the employments of the employees in question.
  3. Finally, recalculate the balances of all employees in this year, so that the new type of leave will be visible for them. Do this by going to ‘Settings (gear icon top right)’ ⇒ ‘Master data’ ⇒ ‘Fiscal years’ and select the correct year. Then select ‘Recalculate balance’.
