End an employee’s employment

When an employee will no longer be employed by the company, the administrator will have to end the employment. This means that the system will calculate when the employee leaves employment, and thus determine the number of leave days the employee can still receive. In other words, when an employee leaves employment halfway through the year, the system will adapt the number of leave days to be in accordance with the amount of time spent working. This will then be half of the full year’s amount of leave days.

The employee will not be able to take leave or carry out any other business with regard to balance after the end of contract date has passed.

How to insert an end of employment?

Go to ‘Settings (gear icon top right)’ ⇒ ‘Users’ ⇒ ‘Overview’. Select the employee who is leaving your company. Scroll down to where you can see the contract rule(s) of the employee. There will also be the option to add ‘End of employment’. Select this option, and fill in the correct date and reason. As soon as you have saved this contract rule, you will see that from the given date onward, the percentage of employment will be 0%.

Attention! For the end of employment date, enter the date until when someone will be working, the date itself not included.

Change an employee’s status to inactive

When the end of employment date has been passed, and the employee is no longer employed at the company, you can choose to change this employee’s status to ‘inactive’. This means that the employee can no longer log in, but that the employee’s data will not be lost. This way, it is possible for an employee to be re-entered into employment easily, with all the data intact. It is then also still possible to view data concerning the employee, should this be necessary. Making an employee inactive also causes a license to become vacant, which can then be used for another employee. An unlimited number of inactive employees can be in the system free of charge.Click here to read more about changing employees to inactive or active.
