Custom Calendar View

Within LeaveDays, there are three standard options available for the calendar view, depending on your configured permissions:

  1. Only yourself – you can only see your own calendar.

  2. Your own department – you can see the calendars of all employees within your department.

  3. All employees – you can see the calendars of all employees within VrijeDagen.

In addition to these standard views, it is possible to create a custom calendar view. This allows you to decide which employees are displayed in a calendar. This can be useful, for example, when you regularly want to view the planning or absence of a specific group of employees.

Once a custom calendar view has been created, it can be assigned to a user through their user profile.

Setting up a custom calendar

To set up a custom calendar, go to Settings (gear icon in the top-right corner) → Master DataCustom Calendar View.

Then click Insert to create a new calendar, as shown in the screenshot below.

Configuring the custom calendar

After clicking Insert, the page for creating a custom calendar view will open.

At the top of the screen, you can set the name and capacity of the calendar. Enter the desired information.

Under Select employees, you can determine which employees will be displayed in the calendar. You have two options:

  • Click Select all to add all employees to the calendar.

  • Add employees manually by clicking the plus icon (+) next to the relevant employee.

Check that the correct employees have been selected and click Save in the bottom-left corner to create the calendar.

The custom calendar view has now been created and can subsequently be assigned to an employee through their user profile.

Assigning the custom calendar to an employee

Once the custom calendar has been created, you can assign it to an employee.

Go to the profile of the relevant employee. Open the Edit Employee screen and scroll down to the Calendar tab (see the image below).

Under Add custom calendar, select the desired calendar from the dropdown menu. Then click the plus icon (+) on the right to add the selected calendar to the employee.

The custom calendar is now linked to the employee.

Viewing the custom calendar

Once the custom calendar has been linked to an employee, you can find it in the calendar overview.

In the calendar overview, click the bar next to Calendar View. In the dropdown menu, you can then select the desired custom calendar.

The calendar will then be displayed with the employees who are linked to that calendar.
