Requests Pending Approval
This window is only visible to employees with the Manager role.
If you have the Manager role, you can approve, reject, and modify requests submitted by your employees.
You can access the request overview by going to ‘VrijeDagen (module at the top)’ ⇒ ‘Pending Approval’ ⇒ ‘Leave (and Overtime)’. You may also have received an email notification about a request that requires approval.
Clicking the link in the email will also take you to the request overview.
At the top of the screen, you will find all requests that are still pending approval. Below these, you will find cancellations submitted by employees. The calendar is displayed underneath.
The calendar overview helps you when approving requests. This gives you insight into the staffing levels and availability of the departments.
When you select a request, the calendar displays colored blocks on the requested dates and next to the employee who submitted the request. These colors correspond to the colors configured for the relevant leave types.
You can select multiple requests at the same time. More information about the calendar can be found under Calendar Overview.
-
Employee/Leave Type: This column shows the employee the request relates to and the type of leave requested.
-

Approving a Request
The person approving the request has three options, depending on the situation.
-
Situation 1: The request should be approved
Select the checkbox for the employee whose request you want to approve. The calendar will then display the employee's request and show it in the predefined color. If you want to add a comment to the request, enter it in the Comments field. You can add general comments here. If the comment should only be visible to managers, enter it in the lower comment box.
Then click Approve.
-
Situation 2: The request should be rejected
Follow the same steps as in Situation 1, but click Reject instead. Adding a comment when rejecting a request is mandatory. The employee will be notified by email. -
Situation 3: Part of the request should be approved and part should be rejected
In this situation, select the employee whose request is concerned. In the comments, explain what changes are required and why, and then reject the request. The employee will then need to modify the request or submit a new request before it can be approved again. You will receive another email notification when the request is submitted again.
It is also now possible to approve leave requests through the app.
